First Air Victory Short Sleeve Brown 100% Cotton Gildan T-Shirt
World War I's first recorded air victory actually happened on the ground, when a British crew forced down a German reconnaissance aircraft on August 26th, 1914. Upon landing, the German ran, and the British couldn't overtake him. So they set fire to his airplane, and that was the first air victory.
This t-shirt commemorates the occasion, but also points out the progress of air weapons over the course of WWI. In the foreground is the German aircraft in flames; behind it is the British aircraft showing tail number 347. Text in the design points out the abilities of the British aircraft in the first year of the war: "1914 British BE2a Max Speed: 70 mph Ceiling: 10,000 ft"
A 1918 Fokker flies above in the background, with its end-of-war specifications: "1918 German Fokker D-VIII Max Speed: 120 mph Ceiling: 19,685 ft" A lot of progress in just four years!
The shirt is yellow ink on a brown 100% cotton Gildan shirt.
